When I designed Orah, I imagined it as more than a light. It further embodies the meaning of light and the value of light.

當我設計 Orah 這盞燈時，希望它不只功能上是一盞燈，而是融入了燈存在的意義與光的價值。

ORIGIN

Lights illuminate everything in the world, the birth of life and hope, always giving silent radiance.

Throughout the universe, dots of lights linked with one another by gravity. As the earth turns, there are day and night. Light along with shadow, demarcate the time. As time changes, as the light fades, there is a lamp.

光，照亮了世間萬物，伴隨生命之誕辰與希望，始終默默地給予光芒。

宏觀宇宙，個個閃耀光芒的碎珠因引力彼此牽引；大地迴旋，造就了晝與夜；光隨影生，劃分出了不同時辰。這個世界正因時辰變化而有了燈。

INTRODUCTION

“Orah” comes from the Hebrew, representing the meaning and origin of light.

I want to design an interactive lighting which people can truly discover the meaning of light as well as feel the value of light. By turning, it plays with light and shadow. Lights and shadows between spheres overlay with each other, just like a planetary operation and a beginning. When the balance between the light and the ball is found, our longing for life and a good environment will be awakened deep down.

Orah 源自於希伯來文，代表著光的意義和起源。

我想設計一款燈具藉由與光的互動，讓人真正體會光的定義和感受光的價值。透過旋轉改變光影變化，圓與圓之間彼此光影交疊，猶如宇宙行星間運行與誕辰。止於光與球之平衡點，重新喚醒我們心中對於環境與生命存在之悸動。

INSTRUCTIONS

Users can gently lift the lampshade and change the direction of illumination to meet the needs of different situations. Through the wireless power supply technology, the lampshade will not be constrained by cables and can be rotated 360 degrees.

Balls are connected by magnets, and it works like a planetary rotation. Users can easily interact with light and shadow in the most instinctive way. Besides, the color temperature of the light source can be changed via remote control.

Transparent acrylic and copper metal mix and match, creating a balance between penetration and impermeability, and distribute warm light.

藉由使用者輕輕抬起 Orah 的光罩轉動來改變光線照明方向，迎合不同使用情境所需之光。

透過無線供電技術使操作不受電線牽絆而可360度旋轉，球體利用磁力相吸平衡，轉動時猶如行星運作般之巧妙，讓使用者在最直覺的操作過程中能與光影產生互動。內部光源可透過遙控器變換色溫，同時利用透明壓克力與銅色金屬混搭，在透與不透之間取得平衡，並散發溫潤光芒。

PROCESS : TO MAKE IT WORK

The process of making this 1:1 working model is divided into internal circuit and external appearance. First, soldered the wireless power supply module with LED circuit board, 3D printed out the base, and then polished for plating. Plus, the center of gravity of the base is well designed to keep the ball upright and balanced. Polished the external lamp holder for plating and drilled a hole for the plug. After all the process and vacuum plating, assembled everything together.

製作這1:1可運作模型的流程分為內部電路與外觀造型，內部先將無線供電模組與LED燈電路板焊接，再3D列印適宜大小底座，將底座拋光後電鍍。此外，重心位置的設計讓光球能保持直立並且平衡。外觀將燈座拋光待電鍍並鑽孔銜接插座。全部加工完成後一併送真空電鍍，再加以組裝及黏合。

APPLICATION

Orah is suitable for many kinds of indoor spaces, and the direction of illumination can be adjusted according to different circumstances and atmospheres.

Mirror metal colour coating with simple appearance makes it look like an elegant artwork even when it is not turned on.

適合多種室內空間，能因應不同情境及氣氛調整照明方向。

鏡面金屬色澤搭配上簡約的外觀，不需照明時亦能猶如藝術品般優雅地佇立著。
